The red ones are..........................

...........poppin' out now, according to Grandpa. Here's a picture of the peonies he just sent. Actually, I think they are a burgundy or wine color, but Grandpa doesn't know his colours well enough yet, so we will call them red. I was wondering if these are boy flowers or girl flowers? Do you know. Maybe I should ask Grandpa?

Jasper hits the road

If you look up above the chariot in the video at about 5 or 6 seconds into it you can see the window of Jaspers first hotel room that he ever had in Banff.

Here are a few photos of Jasper with his videographer, ... and Jasper with his chauffeur.

I sure didn't hear........................

.....................any popping ---- did you? Grandpa sent me another picture of Grandma's peonies. The peonies are busting open, sure must be noisy at their place. Look at those blooms; they are as big as my head! Grandpa says that the red ones are a bit later. I'm sure he will later send a photo of the red ones poppin'. I wonder if they pop louder than the white ones?

jasper celebrates solstice

Jasper celebrates a sunny solstice with some aboriginal mask making up at the Banff Centre. The moth represents "drawn to the light". Too bad he couldn't stay for the aboriginal story arts, but it went way past his bedtime - just like the sun on these long light filled days.

Hey.............Quick...................Look at this Mom!

Grandpa sent a picture to me, and he says that this was taken on your 15th. What does he mean 'on your 15th'? 15th what? And where was it taken?

Happy Birthday!

Pretty pink petals peeking.....................

.................into Grandma's garden are her neighbour's.
It's me - Jasper; posting more photos. The rose is Alberta's floral emblem, and this one probably sees more sun on this side of the fence.

But did you notice the plant in the foreground? I wonder if Grandpa is secretly growing a new 'cash crop' in between Grandma's peonies? I'm gonna have to check this out.

Jasper loves Thursdays

A fun Thursday! Karine, Elijah, and Jasper played with costumes in the morning and she managed to take a picture of the 3 of them together. Karine was a lion, Elijah a pig and Jasper a cow (just incase the costumes are so good you can't recognize them). Lots of fun.

Also, there is one of Jasper eating his lunch and one playing with the paper that makes noise when moving it around fast. He loved it.

Jasper gets hurt

J gets hurt, J feels better. short story. banged his head on the side of the dresser.

June is bustin' out..........................

...................all over in Grandma's Garden. It's Jasper here again, and I'm passing along some of the photos she sent me. The iris' on the side of the house are in full bloom, and if you look further past the gate you will see lots of green along the walk.
In the next photo you see  what's green - peonies that are about to burst. Grandma says they are as big as walnuts and growing fast. I wander if they pop like popcorn when they come out? Maybe? That would be noisy because Grandma has lots of peonies with lots of bloom. She'll probably send more pictures for me to post.
Toodle Lu, till next time, Jasper signing off - over and out!

Jasper, meet Zidane

E, J, and L visit Calgary to see the amazing video installation about soccer superstar Zinédine Zidane at the Glenbow Museum. They simply COULD NOT MISS this chance to experience to see such a unique portrait of Zidane.

The show was shown on two WALL SIZE screens in a HUGE darken exibit room. Jasper loved the quiet meditative music, the soft leather couch, the espansive carpet, the nice darkness...a few couches lined the back of the huge empty room and E,J, and L snagged one of them for themselves and spent 90 min immersed. SO FUN.

Zidane was filmed during a championship match between Real Madrid and Villarreal on April 23, 2005. The artists, Douglas Gordon and Philippe Parreno, positioned 17 cameras throughout Madrid's Santiago Bernabéu stadium and directed a team of camera operators to remain fixed on the French soccer star throughout the entire match. The film has been composed utilizing footage from all 17 cameras and is projected on two large-scale screens in the gallery. Zidane's image is projected larger than life so that his every gesture and expression are emphasized. The video followed Zidane, not the ball!

This video installation of Gordon and Parreno's work was a sensation at the Cannes Film Festival when it debuted in 2006. Since then, it has toured internationally gathering critical acclaim.

(Douglas Gordon is part of the Young British Artists (YBAs) art movement famously associated with Damien Hirst. One of Gordon's best-known art works is 24 Hour Psycho (1993) which slows down Alfred Hitchcock's film so that it lasts 24 hours. Philippe Parreno is an artist and filmmaker currently living in Paris, France. His work is included in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York (MoMA), the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris (France) and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York (USA).) This exhibition is organized by the National Gallery of Canada.

Jasper loves tree branches, mirrors, Elijah, Karine, and Thursdays!

Yesterday, Jasper and Elijah in the laundry basket: (June 9). Karine was pulling them like they were in a car. Superfun.

Jasper playing in front of mirror (April 14).

Jasper, Elijah, and Karine were out for a walk and Karine was getting him to feel and smell the tree branches (May 5)
