Jasper gets a visit from Denmark & Italy

A suprisingly random weekday old friend knock on the door stay the night kind of visit all the way from Denmark and Italy! That's Soren there in the white shirt, and Fabrizio there in the green shirt....you could also say they were from Sweden and also from Vancouver.

Tired feet, fun party

E & J take a bath/footsoak after getting home from preparations for the Midsummer ball at The Banff Centre. They got to see the classical musicians rehearse, the brass in the galleria, and the jazz lounge rehersal where the bass player showed them his pickup up close (integrated into the bridge). They were even invited to try all 50 of the drums and percussion instruments at the leadership spotlight (under guise of delivering signage for the session). J especially liked the big toms and the little wooden frog instruments. Once....when they were carrying stuff past an open door they actually saw an acrobat practicing standing on her hands doing the splits on top of a skinny support that is twice as tall as J. I guess it was quite a show!

But Whew.... E, J, & L were up there working behind the scenes at 6:30 this morning so they were glad to get home. Photo puzzle: Mr. Kinnear asked E for a copy of the rainbow photo from her phone. Can you find why?

Pretty pink petunia petals poking.....................

..............through the green foliage. Not too shabby for my Mom and Dad to do all this flower gardening on  the third floor balcony---- don't you think? But I discovered their secret. On a warm day after work, they like to sip an ale or lager on the balcony. Then they empty the dregs in the bottles into the flower pots. And that's what does it; I think.

Just a cotton pickin'....................

................minute, there! I didn't give final approval for that so called 'self-portrait' that was just posted today. I don't recall pressing any buttons. I'm going to check with my promotional agent and lawyer too. I'm sure you'll agree that photo wasn't showing my best side to any advantage.
I'm going to fight 'fire with fire' and ask Grandpa, FarFar and FarMor for some early photos of my Mom and Dad. I remember seeing old photos showing bare bums and chocolate covered faces of my parents. Not that I would post the photos; but those photos may serve as useful deterrents to ensure only the best pictures of me are posted in the future.
In the meantime; enjoy this photo of Grandma's roses; she says they are just starting to bud out. Cheers, over and out...............Jasper.

Library Fridays

There is a wonderful kids quiet room at the Banff Public Library. There is a window that opens, a sliding door that closes, and in addition to breastfeeding and reading, it is also good for practicing iPhone photo editing and walking. We go every Friday afternoon.

Sure; these are pretty blue flowers, but did you see...................

..................the bees? Grandpa sent along these pictures of Grandma's blue delphiniums. But he didn't mention anything about bees -- but I spotted them right away. And do you see the size of that proboscis? I wonder how big the bee is?

Well, I gotta buzz off and finish my peanut butter and honey sandwich!

The cherries were super delicious, but the problem is not........................

.....................solved. Do you recall me saying I was going to ask Grandpa about 'boy' flowers and 'girl' flowers? Well this photo is what he sent, but it really doesn't help me. He said if a gardener leaves red peonies and white peonies out overnight too often -- the result is pink peonies! And, he said here is the proof, but I think he's just telling us an 'off-color' joke.
