.........................at Bear Trap Lake last Tuesday, July 2nd. 2012. Grandpa sent three pictures which he took about 5 minutes apart during suppertime.
In the first picture he tried to get a picture of the rain coming straight down like from a sprinkler. He said the photo didn't really capture the image that he saw.
In a couple of minutes, the sky really darkened and it started to hail. Some of the hailstones close to the camera flash got lit up like giant balloons. I can't believe how dark it looks.
In the last picture, taken a few minutes later, the hailstorm has ended, the rain continues and the sky has lightened up. There doesn't appear to be any damage, what a relief!
And that's the short story of a quick prairie hailstorm.
